The Kindred Spirits Meet

We Meet 4 times a year on the Last Saturdays of January, March, May, and September at 11am in the Morning right out in front of the Jack London Lodge restaurant area in the very small town of Glen Ellen which is about 45 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge

What can we do?

We could begin by shifting allegiances: I pledge allegiance to the Living Earth. Such a shift in identification, from nation to the Whole Earth, from Self to Community and from City to Watershed and from State to EcoRegion will awaken us to the realization that we are part of a larger wholeness and the beginning of a new awareness that really could change the world.

This is about joining in with others who are moving towards an Eco-Logically Integrated - Earth Centered way of life in Sustainable Community. Work towards the creation of local watershed traditions around things you do together to celebrate the natural cycles.

When people ask you where you are from, tell them you are from Mother Earth. Teach by Example. Practice Right livelihood and give of your time and resources to the projects you believe in. Invest in your people and in your own local watershed.

Involve your self in Ecological Restoration projects of all kinds including helping people learn how ecosystems work, and how to fit our lives and our energies and resources back into our own communities and ecosystems.

Help heal the Earth by restoring human scale communities and helping people to find their own path towards becoming an integrate part of the many solutions that we now do need.

We need to meet so we can begin to make an assessment of who we are and where we are going towards the attainment of this vision of sustainable community which has changed radically since we have entered into the World Wide Web of Life with both eyes wide shut, but with a sense of Spirit and Truth.

Our Vision has grown now and we do need to integrate that with all the new people who just keep showing up out of nowhere all the time. Everyone needs to be there to meet with new folks and to hear from everyone who feels they have a sincere interest in this project.

We all have a real part to play in this and there is a great need to meet up with all the other people who are beginning to make up the beginnings of an unofficial core group that will become the beginnings of the Kindred Spirits of the Emerald Forest which is only about the Unification of all Sustainable Communities to Save the Earth.

DIRECTIONS: from the Bay Area

Go north on 101 from the Golden Gate Bridge until you get to HWY 37. Take that east to 121 North towards Sonoma. Keep going north up along the west side of the Valley then go into 116 north and that goes into Arnold Drive which takes you right into Glen Ellen and the Jack London Lodge is right in the center of this very small town and so you can't miss it.  Other people should be outside waiting.

From the North

Come down highway 101 to Santa Rosa, Then take the College Exit and then left under the overpass going east which veers into HWY 12 after a while and heads you out past Kenwood, then look for the Arnold Drive turn off to Glen Ellen on your right.

Everyone is searching for their place in Sustainable EcoVillage Community right now. A lot of people have come a long way. We have had people come from Oregon and Colorado and one woman had just returned from Findhorn in Scotland.

Some have been to some of the Conferences and others have been to the Gatherings so we are Global as well as local in scope and definition. So we do have to try to make the effort to be there no matter how far away it is. And we will honor those who have come the farthest.

Sustainability

Be seen and be heard and begin to get to know the many sides of all the other people because people are very different in person. Folks are welcome to exchange addresses and to promote their own projects and ideas or just to stick around and make friends after the meetings.

One thing is that people do need to show in some way that they do value some of the time and energy that has been set aside for these meetings and we do always try to show that we appreciate all those who have come so far.

Respect the Meet and all the people that you meet. Do feel free to let us know if you are coming from a long ways off. Those who wish may put it up before the group if they need some camping space or are ready to start living beyond the sidewalks and off the grid right now or who just want to hang out for a little while longer.

Many who have come are from within our local focus area which is between Santa Cruz and Arcata and then up into the Sierras but wee have had some wee people from as far away as Italy.

Bring your ideas to share about trying to find your own magical place in community and see if you can try to make some important connections with the good folks you will meet here who may have come from around the world.

We usually do have a pretty good bunch of folks. Bring your own unique perspectives. Bring some good food and stick around.

Ask your questions. Make your own bad Self known and do feel free to present some of your own printed material if you wish so we can begin to know who you are.

We do welcome all others to try to find a way to collaborate with us. We will need a lot of help and supportive people to take up the slack so do feel free to become absolutely indispensable. We all should now the importance of voluntary cooperation.

So do let us know what part you might like to play or what you might have to contribute above and beyond what we have even talked about.

Collaboration Needed

We do need somebody to keep notes on each meeting and to link everybody up who wants to be linked up and to act as a natural support person who can act as a vibes watcher and a peace maker and to help get the focus back on with the flow when there may be too many people talking all at once and too few people listening, and to stand up for those who are not being heard, because everyone's voice does need to be heard.

We welcome you as an important part of this collaborative effort. If you have the time and the energy for more involvement then you can email me all about it. - T
